Glossary

Every term the app uses, in plain words. Dotted words in the app link to these definitions.

Rebalance

Selling some assets and buying others so your portfolio matches the split you want.

Target

The percentage of your portfolio you want in each asset.

Circle

A group that rebalances the same assets on a schedule. Rounds happen inside Circles.

Round

One session: members join, Sama finds matches, everyone approves, and it settles.

Match

The part of your rebalance that cancels out with other members' and moves wallet to wallet.

Leftover

The part of your rebalance that didn't find a match. You decide what happens to it.

Free signature

A message your wallet signs. It costs no gas and moves no tokens by itself.

Token allowance

Permission for the settlement contract to move an exact amount of one token from your wallet.

All-or-nothing settlement

All transfers in the plan happen in one transaction, or none of them do.

Independent check

After settlement, a separate service re-reads the chain to confirm everything moved exactly as planned.

Gas sponsorship

Sama pays the BNB network fee for approvals and settlements, so you don't need BNB to take part.

Intent

Your signed limits for one round: per asset, the most you will send and receive. It moves nothing by itself.

Plan

The exact list of transfers in a round that every participant approves and one transaction executes.

Price snapshot

One price per asset for the whole round, pinned to one block. Its hash is in every intent and plan.

Tier

A, B or C: how an asset is priced and whether its leftovers can be swapped. See Supported assets.

Dust

A leftover under $0.10, too small for any market. It is reported, never traded.
